Contains correspondence and general files; financial reports and records; and meeting minutes. Correspondence covers the day-to-day operations of the home. Financial records concern income and expenditures and include treasurer's accounts, operating fund records, financial reports, and audits. Minutes make up the largest part of the collection. Also included are deeds to Crown Hill Cemetery, wills, and newsletters.

Incorporated in 1867 as the Indianapolis Home for Friendless Women, taking in aged and transient women and children. In 1913 the name was changed to the Indianapolis Home for Aged Women, serving only that population. In 1936 it became the Indianapolis Home for the Aged to allow it to serve men as well, but this never came about.
